born in Shanghai, weiwei is a composer & sound artist. she focuses on different aspects in composition: instrumental timbre, recorded sounds, improvisation, and design temporal structure, think within and beyond the convention - rationality, sensitivity, fragility, spontaneousness, and indeterminacy.
 

she has studied composition with P Edwards, advanced music theory & foundamental of computer music with at the YSTCM the conservatory of National University of Singapore, and with composer K Lang and B Furrer Austria at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.

her music compositions have been realized and performed in Singapore, Germany, Austria, Norway, Spain and China (Shanghai) in various contemporary and new music event, including ECLAT - SÜDSAITENACHTS, 200 JAHRE BEWEGTE LUFT, INVISIBLE DRIVE #5, FACERE CITY TOUR, FACERE IN MARIATROST, HERE AND NOW AND ANYPLACE ELSE, STIKK INNOM FESTIVAL, scene instrumental ''GRAZER URAUFFÜHRUNG 8'', MESSAGE MUSIC, HOWEVER RELATING, BETWEEN FEATHERS - CHANGING LIGHTS, VERTIXE SONORA LATEXOS DA AUGA, MUSIKPROTOKOLL 2021 - ENSEMBLE ZEITFLUSS CONCERT, KONTRAPUNK!...

AFTER STUDY

with friends, she founded x.sounding.

She returned to Shanghai, worked as project curator at the SHANGHAI WEST BUND MUSEUM for music projects relating to the exhibition The Voice of Things, collaborated with pompidu centre .
