born in Shanghai, weiwei is a composer & sound artist. she focuses on different aspects in composition: instrumental timbre, recorded sounds, improvisation, and design temporal structure, think within and beyond the convention - rationality, sensitivity, fragility, spontaneousness, and indeterminacy.

weiwei studied composition with Peter Edwards at the National University of Singapore - Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, with Klaus Lang and Beat Furrer at the Kunstuniversität Graz.

She is awarded with full tuition grant from National University of Singapore - YSTCM.

she founded x.sounding with her colleagues online, which is a team for new music and sound/media art. 

recently she has been engaged with new media journaling and curate sound art event in Shanghai.

She has also worked as project curator & organizer at the SHANGHAI WEST BUND MUSEUM for music projects relating to the exhibition (by pompidu centre) THE VOICE OF THINGS; as editor for CLASSICAL 947 summer music on air.
